This antique kokeshi doll was made by Toshiyuki Kojima (1949–2012).
He was one of the leading craftsmen of Tsugaru-style Nuruyu kokeshi dolls from Aomori Prefecture. His mentor was the renowned master craftsman Zenji Sato, and he began learning kokeshi making while still in junior high school. He later underwent full-scale training in woodturning and traditional kokeshi production.
Please note that this is an antique kokeshi doll, so there may be some signs of previous ownership and age, which are reflected in the price.
