This antique kokeshi doll was made by Bunichi Kamata
He was a master kokeshi doll artisan from the Yajiro tradition in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.
He was known for his beautifully balanced shapes, bold hand-painted designs. His works became especially famous after some of his kokeshi were displayed in the home of Charles Eames and Ray Eames.
Please note that this is an antique kokeshi doll, so there may be some signs of previous ownership and age, which are reflected in the price.
