Japanese Hariko Mask.
Hariko is a Japanese traditional paper mache that has been made for over 400 years.
Several layers of Japanese washi paper are pasted over the frames and left to dry before been decorated.
Oni are powerful figures in Japanese folklore, traditionally believed to protect against evil and bring strength and good fortune. Their bold and fierce appearance makes Oni masks a popular decorative symbol of protection.
